In an ideal world this book, Homeland, would not have to be written. That's because the physical presence of the Jewish people for over 3,000 years in Palestine, the unbroken chain of political, historical, biblical and religious connection to their homeland, and the recognition of their right to that homeland by multiple pronouncements of the international community, make their presence and the principle of their statehood obvious and fundamental beyond contradiction. But in a world flooded by what the great British historian Paul Johnson calls the mental disease of anti-Semitism and with the historic truth of the connection of the Jewish people to their homeland being questioned by the mainstream media both in the U.S. and abroad, and being called into question by Islamo-fascists, it is necessary to return to historic fundamentals and to clear the record obscured by so much propaganda and media misinformation. So a book like Homeland had to be written, and Jerome Verlin has produced exactly that book that is urgently needed. He meticulously documents the great historic tale of over 3,000 years with impressive scholarship and compelling literary skill, all worthy of his important task. In a world that has lost sight of this important piece of history, Verlin provides the reality check necessary for everyone who wants to understand the Arab-Israeli conflict and the historic and moral imperatives that gave rise to the state of Israel. --Herb Denenberg, Consumer Advocate
