Chancellor George Osborne has backed the 2011 National Business Awards, which has opened for entries.
Mr Osborne said the awards, now in their tenth year, were a “perfect way to celebrate the best of British business,” and provided “success stories” that could inspire more people to start up and grow businesses.
The 12 open award categories include online small business, entrepreneur of the year and excellence in marketing.
The Daily Telegraph will honour the business executive who has achieved a decade of business excellence.
Damian Reece, head of business at Telegraph Media Group, said: “The awards are a first class way for a company, large or small, to showcase its business. The robustness of judging means the awards recognise real quality so represent a brilliant marketing and sales opportunity while being an obvious communications tool internally as well.”
Over 100 chief executives and senior directors will participate as judges, supported by the likes of Sir John Banham, chairman of Johnson Matthey, Julie Meyer, chief executive of Ariadne Capital and Richard North, chief executive of former award winner Wow! Stuff, the Wolverhampton-based toy manufacturer.
To enter or nominate for this year’s campaign, call 0207 234 8755 or visit www.nationalbusinessawards.co.uk.
Finalists will be announced on the 28th July and winners will be presented with their awards at the National Business Awards gala dinner and awards ceremony in London at the Grosvenor House Hotel on 8th November.
